Estelle just oozes positive energy. This was one those moments where the only work I had to do was stay out of the way and take the picture. We did three looks and got all the frames I wanted in under twenty frames, total.
This shoot was a great example of improvising with talent and props. I wanted to get a bit more movement in the shoot so was thinking about having Alex wave a reflector to get some air blowing through Estelle’s hair. She decided to one-up things and got a hair drier.
What you are not seeing is Alex sitting off frame shooting with the hair drier! As you can see from the picture she did a great job! More importantly by giving her a job it helped make the shoot more natural.
Now instead of the girls posing for the camera they were suddenly playing! The difference in expressions and energy was instant and everyone on set suddenly relaxed more and started joining in the fun.
The lesson here is work on keeping the energy of the shoot in a positive place and you will be constantly amazed how people will mold and take it to newer and better places!
